The land of the Mountain Gorillas… Uganda shares its Eastern border with Kenya and its Western frontier is the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Uganda has faced many tragedies since its independence but now has one of the fastest growing economies on the continent, and is a welcoming haven for travelers who wish to explore her tropical jungles and unique ecosystems.

- Language: English (official national language); Ganda or Luganda (most widely usedof the Niger-Congo languages, Swahili, Arabic
- Currency: Ugandan Shilling (about 1700 to $1)
- Religion: Roman Catholic 33%, Protestant 33%, Muslim 16%, indigenous beliefs 18%.
- Climate: Tropical; generally rainy with two dry seasons (December to February, June to August); semiarid in northeast
- Time: UTC +3 (8 hours ahead of Washington, DC during Standard Time)
